200th anniversary of the death of Antonio Canova
This coin commemorates the 200th anniversary of the death of Antonio Canova.
It represents in relief the sculpture of the goddess Hébé, a work produced by Canova between 1976 and 1817 in four copies exhibited in Forlì (Italy), Chartsworth (United Kingdom), Saint-Petersburg (Russia) and Berlin (Germany).
CANOVA’s name is inscribed to the left of the sculpture. The issuing country “SAN MARINO” is written on the right.
On each side of the sculpture are the vintages (1822 – 2022).
The twelve stars of the European flag are engraved evenly around the edge of the coin.
